FULHAM manger Roy Hodgson has told Rangers his club will not accept less than the £4m asking price for Steve Davies, who the Ibrox club have been prepared to offer no more then £3m to acquire.
The midfielder, who enjoyed a successful six-month loan spell at Ibrox last season, did not feature in the Fulham squad that beat Celtic 3-1 at Craven Cottage yesterday.

But Hodgson said he would have no problems working with the player if the fee they seek is not forthcoming.

"Steve's loan spell with Rangers worked out exceptionally well for both sides and he is keen to move up there," he said.

"However, players have values and we believe we have Steve's about right. As I understand the situation, Rangers have reiterated their earlier bid, which we rejected."
