Teenagers to stage battle of the bands

A BATTLE of the bands contest exhibiting Edinburgh's top unsigned talent is set to rock the Usher Hall later this month.

Dubbed "Band Showcase", the one-off gig – spearheaded by the venue's Young Promoters team – will see Capital five-piece Dirty Modern Hero headline the event.

"Our Young Promoters are a team aged between 16 and 19 and they have taken part in a series of workshops learning real skills for real jobs," said an Usher Hall spokesperson.

"Our in-house team have been working closely with the Young Promoters and we have been giving them skills and experience in presenting live acts to young audiences. Under supervision, the Young Promoters have been doing it all."
