Microwave hamster killer sent to jail
A construction worker who killed his pet hamster by microwaving it has been jailed for nine weeks.
Anthony Parker, 29, was banned from keeping animals for five years by a court in Hartlepool. When police came to his home in 23 February, he told them: "I didn't mean to kill her."
