Robert 'Mutt' Lange must have missed Def Leppard terribly because here he shapes the Canadian band in their Eighties' image, replacing their balsa wood rock with something with a tough teak veneer.

But things drift back into the middle of the adult pop road, with the predictable 'Gotta Be Somebody' and 'Just To Get High', both guilty of the band's patented soundtrack excesses. 'This Afternoon' is a pleasant surprise, with Chad Kroeger kicking back and proving to have a sense of humour in the process.
